First we covered SnagIt, then OneNote, and we saved the best for last - Zoom. We use Zoom Meetings internally on a daily basis and with our clients to discuss technology challenges and goals. Zoom allows us to share video, audio and even our screens. Whether next door or 3000 miles away, you’ll feel like you’re in the same room when you use Zoom.
With clients in 9 states across various time zones, Zoom has been the most important tool for being productive and utilizing our time. Who doesn’t want more time in their day? We are able to quickly meet with clients and vendors to do product demos or even conduct live troubleshooting.
Here are some things you are going to miss out with on Zoom: sitting in traffic to make that meeting across town, having to print out all those papers to hand out in meetings, fumbling with projector cords and other misc. electronics that don’t work in the conference room down the hall. Oh and you also will save on gas which helps cut down on your carbon footprint while saving you money!
Here are the things you can do with the FREE version of Zoom:
- Host Up to 100 participants
- Have unlimited 40 min or less meetings
- HD Video Conferencing with Active Speaker View
- Give users the option to dial in by telephone
- Share your entire Desktop or specific applications
- Share your video and your screen simultaneously
- Use the whiteboard for brainstorming and collaboration
While the free version is great for those just getting familiar with Zoom we utilize the paid since we often have meetings over 1 hour and our favorite feature – Video Recording. This allows us to record training sessions and be able to share them with others who might not have been able to attend, or who want to refer to them in the future.
